I recently noticed that the Russian disability rights organization Perspektiva has distributed these cute little posters around town:
The text reads “Children Should Study Together” and the little green sign in the top right points the way to school.
I really like that they have tried to cover a range of disabilities: You have a bespectacled little girl with a pony tail, another little girl with a cochlear implant, a little guy using a wheelchair, and a seemingly “normal” (but who knows; learning disabilities are invisible to the naked eye) boy with a backpack.
Not bad, though maybe it would be slightly better if the kids were a bit mixed up, so that the kids with visible disabilities weren’t following behind the seemingly “normal” kid? Still. A good start.
